I thought we went into quarantine to flatten the curve

Not flatten the economy.
Wasn’t the basis of the stay at home order was to prevent the hospitals from being overwhelmed and crippling our healthcare system?
The data indicate the curve has indeed flattened. It also shows lots of hospital capacity.
So why can’t we go back to what we’re supposed to be doing and live normally?

I truly will never understand how things got to this point. It doesn’t seem real. America feels no different than Communist nations with how our government got so controlling

Most are too dumb to understand this. They still think compliance = getting through more quickly.

Exactly. Now that we have flattened and in many areas, decreased, the curve -- they have all of a sudden gotten even more draconian with closures, masks, etc.
Funny how they weren't proposing this when it was actually bad.
These are the people that purchase fire insurance on a house that already burned down.

this is a thread i made earlier
quote:
Has any governmental body (outside of maybe Sweden) articulated the plan?
this is focused primarily on the US (federal and state) but the subject makes it clear that international governments are also included
so, uh, what's the, uh, plan?
yes i understand we need 20M tests/month to test/trace to deal with acute outbreaks, but that's a mitigation strategy and not a total strategy for how society is going to deal with this pandemic
outside of a vaccine, what the hell is the plan for society?

I started this thread a couple of weeks ago and the usuals were telling me I’m making this up.
We went from flatten the curve to save the hospitals to flatten the curve until we have 0 cases.

This makes no sense. How will news agencies, governors, mayors and police chiefs live out their life long dream of controlling entire areas of the population over the offhand chance we might get the flu?

What I want to know is what happened to all the ventilators that we cranked out. Are they just sitting in storage somewhere?

Yes this type of lingering shutdown was not the premise from the start.
The hospitals are not overwhelmed and that is a FACT.
Total exposure numbers should remain the same as if we did nothing, just spread out over a longer period of time. There is no way to eliminate all exposure to this virus.

Because if we go back to work there is the possibility that curve will unflatten itself therefore this is the new normal stay at home so we can do our tic tok hero videos enjoy food stamps hyperinflation and economic collapse #believeallwomen

Quite a few people made the common sense comment / question the other day of wondering why the hell we are waiting to open businesses when wal mart, Home Depot, etc are fricking packed every day

Most of the people wanting to keep the quarantine going hate black people‘s success. They were doing so good, record low unemployment, and quarantine is a way to put them back in slavery.

It’s moved to eliminating now apparently. Which is dumb as shite
