I think I hit the age where my eyes are starting to diminish

I can’t see the tv screen as good, especially when drinking. Trying to read letters or numbers on the tv is getting quite hard. Always had 20/20…….
so this is very hard. What do I do?

Try drug store readers. They might help a little, but they are for close up reading. If that doesn’t work, make an appointment with an eye doctor to get you some glasses to corrected near sightedness. How old are you?

I'm dealing with the same thing.
I went to the eye doctor and they diagnosed me with O.L.D.
It's treatable but not curable

It happens to everyone of us…unlless you just drop dead. First off, be sure you are up to date on all doctor visits. It is probably just a matter of the normal course of aging…but maybe not.
It may be nothing more than some medicine you are taking.

Age 44 it happened to me
Couldn't make out the total on bar tabs.
Bartenders loved it, My CPA did not
Go see, not pun intended, an ophthalmologist and possibly an optometrist.
Contacts were a life changer.
When you figure out the right ones, and it takes some trial and error, you won't even know they're in place.
The current Cooper Vision Biofinity Multifocals have been on my eyes for around 3 months.
No downvotes please
I've learned the secret to cleaning them without removing them.

Sela,
I got bifocals in my early 40s and readers around 50 (you can get a pack of 3 for less than $20 at CVS/WMart/etc) but they come in different focuses so make sure you get the right one. Keep one at your workspace and one in the car for starters).
Bifocals aren't bad. A simple eye exam will get you the right prescription which you can take to Target for a good price for lenses and frames.
Good luck!

As another poster mentioned, drug store readers are your future. But go ahead and buy about 10 pair and stash them all over the place until you get in the habit of always making sure they are on you. I keep a spare on my nightstand, end table in living room, my truck, my wife’s car, and my desk drawer at work.

Mid 40's - it goes downhill fast.

I had trouble threading a needle today. Bright headlights hurt my eyes.

I’m 43, had LASIK at 30, and hoped I would get to at least 45 or even 50, but my eyes are starting to fail me as well. I’m probably 20/30 or 20/40, so it’s not terrible yet, but right after surgery I was 20/10. I haven’t looked in to any surgical remedies as of yet. I know LASIK is not an option again, but I think there are some other options that didn’t used to be available.

As soon as I turned 45 (just 5 months ago), almost to the day, I needed readers. I can still read and see my phone with out them, but it’s so much easier with them.
