then why not ask to see his ID?
felt a need to get suspect out of vehicle first.

me too cause getting out of a car, potential dangerous scenario, is so the same as a backseat blowie.
doesn't matter

He started to not comply when they told him to get out of the car to arrest him and he wanted to know what for and they NEVER TOLD HIM
I think he started before that, but I'm just a bootlicker.

There are real dumbasses commenting on this thread. He didn't deserve to be treated like that. Ask for his ID, problem solved.
Don't go in hostile when cops don't know who he is. Storm trooper T/POS stuff right here.
Lazy police work once again making it harder on all of us just like the stupid kill all cops BLM segment. The nut jobs on both sides needed to evaporate off this planet

If folks would just start most unplanned encounters with law enforcement with something like, "Officer(s), what is the issue? I'd like to cooperate in any way that I can." - there would be far fewer violent interactions. Even if you're ultimately going to clam up and ask for a lawyer, at that point, you've initiated a non-violent dialogue, rather than verbally/physically resisted.
I'm not saying this means "comply or die" - but rather "be civil and live." It's a subtle difference, but an important one.

is this salmon talking or is this actual law enforcement rules and regs?

Cops were definitely in the wrong but if he would have done what they asked the situation could have been avoided. I live in Savannah and the crime is out of control for a town this size. Their are armed robberies, drive bys, murders nearly every day. It is not excuse for the cops behavior but I would imagine they are a little on edge.

frick those cops. Anyone trying to defend them is a fricking moron
Posted on 7/15/16 at 2:19 pm to Salmon
I bash cops on here. But with the tensions rt now, just fricking comply with them. Why fricking resist?
I'm not saying cops abusing power and messing with people is right, but it would never have gone there if he just got out the car.

I think you mean wrong suspect, and why did they feel the need to get him out of the car? There's 2 cops there. 1 gets the warrant (per the damn law) and the other watches the kid. Tell the kid you'll get the warrant and while yo're doing that, he needs to find some ID showing he is Patrick.

Seems like just getting out would have been the better play, no?

cops cannot force you to get out of your vehicle on your property if you did not do anything wrong or without probably cause

yeah, a law abiding citizen should comply with officer demands. too many cops die all the time in situations like this. Ok, this was a good ole kid, that's not always the case.
I think you would be happier in North Korea.
