I Moved Away From N.O. Back In 1990

When I was 17 years old. Always said I would move back to Louisiana one day, somewhere in the country. Where in South Louisiana would be a good place to settle, or should I keep my arse in Atlanta? I was born in Lake Charles, and raised in Lafayette and N.O.

There are tons of good places around South LA to live/settle back down in. Certainly ones that are better than Atlanta.
New Orleans is not one of them. Neither is Lafayette for that matter.

Can you make a decent living here? LA isn't exactly an economic powerhouse in many industries

If you want to move back to Louisiana, move to Bay St Louis

Just because you said you'd return one day doesn't mean you are obligated. There's little to no reason to select this area to relocate.

Bogalusa is lovely this time of the year and with a new 23 year old mayor. What could go wrong?

Once out of LA dont ever come back.
That said, Atlanta would not be my last stop.

What's wrong with Lafayette? I always figured it was the best "larger" market in South LA unless you consider the Northshore as a whole.

It depends on your haircut and how many gold chains you own.

Click on the 'Best options for new NFL and NBA stadiums out of dangerous NOLA' thread where you'll see from some posters, everything in NO is fine.

100%! The family & I moved from BR to Raleigh, NC a few years ago. Zero regrets! Stay where you are or research other options. I’m glad we left when we did.

You’re going to get a lot of hate from this board. But the real answer is probably north shore or Lafayette/Youngsville
Posted on 1/9/23 at 1:22 pm to Scientific73
Northshore if you wanted to stay in the southern part of the state.

We don’t want you back bruh

What are your interests? There are good parts of south louisiana just like there are shitholes.
La ranks low in a lot of things. But do those things affect you? I assume if a person can up and move, they’re fairly well off middle class folks. There are great private schools in Louisiana. There are great hospitals in Louisiana.
I’m not saying Louisiana is the best for everyone but let’s not kid ourselves saying it’s the worst for people that make a decent living and have access to the better things.
(Except for our roads, they’re shite)
