I met an actual flat earther recently.

I always thought these people existed on the internet only.
Alright so I had to go to a small event for a very distant extension of family (by marriage) out in the middle of fricking nowhere. These are total rednecks. I had actually never met the people whose house this is at.
The guy who I assume owns the house is not really participating in the party. He goes in the back room for most of it. He is wearing jean shorts, a new iberia haircut, and a 4th rate Trump shirt.
Finally, he emerges.
He is carrying a paper plate, a bottle of water, and what appears to be a softball sized disco ball.
He says "I got to go show these bitches on the internet whats up" and walks outside.
I am, of course, confused.
It is then explained to me by others that he is a flat earther. He is going to go video a demonstration:
He is going to pour water over the ball. All of the water will slide off and fall to the ground.
He is then going to pour water in the plate and it will all stay in, because it is flat and has a lip around it to keep it in.
If the Earth were a sphere, the water in the ocean would just fall out into space.
Yes. This is real.
