Not the whole story. The guy that bolted emailed your boss and said service sucked, you were nowhere to be found, so he bolted. But he did offer to pay. Jokes on you, buddy.

Reading the OP it's very easy to understand why he's stuck in a low end job like waiting tables. Well, I guess that should actually read he WAS stuck , now he apparently doesn't even have that.
