I have run at least a 5k every day since late December 2019.

I’m over 700 consecutive days in a row now.

In the past 5 years, daily I’ve run on over 95% of the days.

I can eat as much of anything I want to, I just burn it up.

ETA: You’re insane on your distance. I’m a bit possessed but you’re insane.

ETA: grats OP, that's pretty impressive, I've gotten into running a bit lately as well. Started in July working towards being able to run a 5k. 5k is now my "I'm going to run a short distance" days. 160 miles in 5 months, but I also cross train a good bit on bike and swimming. I'm running a 25k this weekend with a 4200ft ascent... I'm going to die

Imagine what a person 100 years ago would think seeing a man running down the road.

It would look strange. But that man, 100 years ago, would have been much more active than modern Americans. He’d would be much stronger.

Until around 1950, weight training was a niche thing for bodybuilders. Things change.

already stated this but there is little to no good data to suggest this. If you run properly (good form) and build up to mileage, it is not bad for knees and hips

I have had bad knees. I thought I couldn't run anymore because of it. Then when I was around 40, I said screw it and trained to run a 5k.
Kept going, though no where near the OP level and my knees and legs are the better for it.

I stand by first post, he will wear out his knees and hips if he keeps up those miles for years.

Eluid Kipchoge is the best marathoner in the world. He's been running 20+ miles a day for the last 20 years. Elite distance runners at that level all run that kind of mileage for decades.

It's more mileage than any casual or semi serious runner will do in their lifetime. None of them are hobbling around. None of them are incapacitated. They're just still running.

Regular running strengthens joints, ligaments, tendons, and the body's ability to absorb stress. Our bodies are built for it.

I'm 45. And yeah, I get sore some days for sure. But I'm sure people that lift weights 6 days a week do the same. I do try to listen to my body. I won't cut miles but I'll definitely cut speed on days that I just don't have it.

No speedwork, hill work, fartleks or tempo runs? You need to add some variety to your training. Mileage is not the end all be all.

Bad knees, ankles and such result from improper running form, which most people have. shite I have it. Running motion should be a smooth, fluid form that doesn’t pound your joints. If you run properly you will be fine.

OP your numbers are sick. You’re getting DV’d here because of jealousy. FatBawOTrs don’t like you successfully healthy types coming in here making them look bad. You have entered the bear’s den, and they will deal with you as soon as their nap is over.

I miss running ... it's hard to start all over but here's to me getting it going again

Ain’t that the truth? I stopped running for the most part of three years and picked it back up two months ago. That first two weeks was hell as my knees weren’t accustomed to the pounding and were stiff as hell. Now I’m back at the point where I feel bad if I don’t do it 4-5 days a week.
