Someone said his bib was 240. I don't see any evidence of that in this thread unless he deleted it.

Rarely does the OT need any facts to substantiate what we want to say. And frequently it's far funnier if we don't have the facts.

This thread still has potential to be "Thread of the year", especially if we get a happy ending for Sussudio

I was doing the bridge run in Luling one year and about a 7-8 months pregnant woman passed me.

I felt pretty old and slow that day.

I did the Charleston one and folks dressed up in outfits and shite went right on past. and had I'd been able to catch my breath, I would have cussed them a little bit.

Damn, that's a pretty winnable race right there. I'm tired of getting my arse kicked in NWA; might need to branch out more.

Little Jack Lowe was sandbagging when he saw he blitzed everyone else. He said come and get some if you want those knuckles checked.

But really, I see why people always hated me and my friends in high school. You're feeling good, ready to run your 5k and a little shite rolls up in his high school xc jacket and drops a 17:30.

39 minutes isn't surprising. He can shave 10 minutes off that in no time if he starts to run a few times a week.

Maybe OP will start running full time and love it after this experience

Would be awesome if he checked in a year from now hammering out sub-20 5Ks

Im sure if the lady friend is a dime and he gets laid from this, it sets up a wonderful precedent for this relationship in the future

And then it will progress to “I said I had $1.5 thou saved for retirement, not million” and “I said it was a hard 9 millimeters, not inches.”

Ssubba probably just reading this now and laughing at all of us when he tells us he was the 25 year old that took max time to finish

Did he ever say his age? Because if he is in his 20s and he tried and still got 39 minutes, then yes, it’s surprising, at least to me.

My obese 40 year old sister ran a 40 min 5k.

Salmon, there were a lot (150) people finishing behind 40 mins. Basically 40% of all participants finished >40. If youve never ran before and go out Day 3 and do a 5k, it’s going to be in that range....cause you try and jog/run, but can’t go far and then your walk ends up being slower 3.5mph and you’re over 40 mins. I see people at the gym on treadmills at 3.5-4 with 0 incline that are struggling after 30 mins and they aren’t old or fat either

Right.

And I would hope the vast majority of those are old and/or obese people.

Not 20 year olds in decent shape.

Maybe I’m just completely out of touch with how out of shape most people are, even people that look to be in decent shape.

I think if you are a normal body weight. You should be able to run three consecutive ten minute miles fairly easily.
