You’re wrong. They can’t charge “ high” rents. There’s nothing discretionary about it. Section 8 housing rents are regulated. The rents are based on a percentage of the area median gross income. In addition, owners are limited as to how much money they can pull out of a project as profit. Lots of misperceptions in this thread.

That's the funny part about that line. She acts as if living in Section 8 housing is a job. They get to live in a house for free and she says they get absolutely nothing. As if these people should receive a return on something for which they LITERALLY invested NOTHING.

I'd wager money they do. Kids from extreme backgrounds tend to rebel the opposite way from how they were raised.
Used to see it first hand from all the preachers daughters when they enrolled at Louisiana College. They would go buck wild. It was like shooting fish in a barrel.
