It is interesting to see the varied responses. When Mattress Mack comes up it is almost universal praise and his philanthropy is even more blatantly promoting his business (at least what we hear about). IMO good is good and selfish motivations are more or less irrelevant since almost all charity is selfish on some level. Giving to charity is one of the only checks I enjoy writing but I am not going to feel bad because I get joy from doing it even if it was my prime motivation. I am also not going to denigrate someone else because they might derive some benefit beyond some internal joy.

You have no idea if she's reached out to the family or not and it's really none of your business anyway. You aren't a family member or friend of TK's so it's pretty weird that you seem to be so intently focused on if/how she expressed condolences to the family.
