This brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for your kind heart.

Ditto, these are our babies. I have two goldens and this would break my heart. We play everyday. Feeling really bad for OP, but Carson123987, you're a good man for stepping up like you did.

Not that the PI attorney does, but he/she will at least advocate for him and he’ll him navigate a frustrating process.
The TV guys? Nah. Get a real attorney only if you really need one.

The OT's resolve to come together and help one another is truly an inspiration. Thank y'all for being an example of what we should all stive to be.

Prayers are lifted for you, MarlboroTiger, that you have a speedy recovery both physically and emotionally. I'm grateful to see the OT's light once shining in way that stirs up hope for the brothers and sisters of the TD family.

With your friend having 3 fractured vertebrae and internal bleeding I'm wondering if Chicken might consider reinstating his posting privileges. A little TD might be the panacea he needs. Sounds like he's going to have a rough go of it for a while.

What a sad thread

It makes me wonder about driving with the dog in the car unrestrained. Of course we do it all the time but it just seems so dangerous for him. Any kind of decent wreck and it seems like they would be in serious trouble

Never really think about it but yea its probably the equivalent of us just sitting in the bed of a truck and them hitting the brakes and us flying into the cab.

Super dangerous and already has us trying to find some restraints for the dog when in the car.

Carson, what you did to help was admirable. It takes a man with a lot of compassion to help someone in this type of situation. I'm sorry it had a sad ending, but what you did was admirable.

Sorry to hear about you pooch. Looks like he was definitely a good boy.

One question I have; The OP mentions "exchanging information" with the guy that hit him, causing what sounds like a pretty serious wreck. I mean t-boned with a broken collarbone and the passenger with internal injuries. And of course the dog. Did the police not show up? Investigate? At least take down information themselves?

I know anymore a lot of PD's do not do shite for accidents without injuries, have dealt with the BS myself when an illegal caused a wreck and the cop told me straight out they don't even fill out a report, but it sounds as if this was a pretty serious wreck.

There were officers initially on the scene and they explained to us that the location was out of their jurisdiction so we had to wait for EBR to show up to take statements.

I can’t thank all of you enough for the kind words and well wishes. I’m an absolute basket case right now and I still can’t believe my little guy is gone. He’s the first dog I’ve ever owned and he was 1 month shy of his first birthday. I absolutely broke down earlier when I got home and he wasn’t there to greet me at the door. I’ve spoken with Carson privately a couple of times today, and I can’t convey enough of how great of a guy he is and how much y’all’s words truly mean.

Carson seems like an awesome guy. I doubt he has an enemy here.
