I got married on a Sunday in June. It was Father's Day.

You know you don't have to go.

K, keep me posted.

As for this whole have to go thing, why? I don't understand why we have got to the point in society where we feel obligated to go to every damn thing. When I get married, I want the Venn Diagram section of people I want there and people who want to be there.

Sounds like a great time for some day drinking.

and those dates were available at the church/venue for a reason....

In big cities you have to schedule your venue before football schedules are made. BaMa/LSU is usually the same weekend of the season, but Saints games can vary, and regardless are on Sunday.

But it's easy enough to just not go if it's such an inconvenience to you. No one will notice.

Yep. Unless you are immediate family or in the wedding party the bride and groom probably couldn't care less if you are there or not.

I get the feeling the type of person that has a wedding on a Sunday isn’t going to have a wedding that includes gassing beers

Unless it’s a game after cfb has already ended and just happened to be a Saturday night game. Which would just be shite luck

Funny how doom, gloom, and groom go so well together.

We have soccer tryouts. Crazy day for that. Supposed to be at noon, but my boy's trying out for a year older team so it's 2:00.
One of the Little Füts had that scenario once, with a several hour drive each way on top of it. I called five other kid’s parents (kids I knew would make the team too) and that date got changed.

The coaches and the organization is supposed to be there for your kid, not the other way around.

If the club is irrational on tryouts, the season will probably be as well.

Parents bitched. We would have missed the noon tryouts, but the 2:00 wasn't too terrible.

Not sure my boy did well enough to move up an age group. Had the best shot/goal of the session, but he's just not as physical as the best out there. He's got a tournament with them at the end of the month, so he's still got a chance to earn a spot.

Also the final round of The U.S. Open. That’s the most unforgivable imo fwiw.

This is selfish. Just like when people get married between Christmas & New Years. There are 52 weeks in a year. If you include football season, there are probably 18 weekends out of the year it's not a good idea to get married. That leaves 34 weekends.. Work with that.
