Abused Ambien CR for about a year. Used to take two a night and mix with alcohol. Never left the house or did crazy crap.

Fighting sleep was the best, but I did write some crazy crap on people's facebook that I normally never would. Like congratulating them on things and wishing them well. I would never do that sober.

I took one one time, never again.. The next morning I had a bunch of friends telling me about random phone calls and texts I had no recollection of making. Not being able to remember anything kinda freaked me out.

What was the cause of death, just out of curiosity?

She was on her Ambien and must have gotten up from bed (like had happened many times) only this time left the house and apparently drove to the top of the Miss Rvr bridge. Eye witness said she was driving slow and just stopped and got out and walked around to the rail and stepped over. She was found 3 days later.

Wife films you asleep gasping for air instead of helping... you have a huge life insurance policy, don't you?

Funny that nothing is real until it happens to you or a family member and then all of the sudden it hits home.

White rich folks in Broward County or mother's taking Ambien or being involved in a necessary lawsuit. All fun and games until it happens to you and then shite gets real.

I used to wake up with stuff like cracker crumbs and Reese's wrappers in my bed from getting up and binge eating in the middle of the night with no recollection of it. Then one morning I woke up and in addition to the food remnants/wrappers I found a receipt from a gas station where I had gotten up an driven to the gas station and bought a bunch of junk food with no recollection of it at all. That was the last time I ever took it

Ambien is awesome. If you've never tried to stay awake after taking one, I highly recommend it.

Glad your folks are ok, as I have read so many horror stories about it. I've told my Ambien story here before, but here it is again.

My mom lived with me, my husband, and our kids up until her death a few years ago. (She and my stepfather were not in good health, so I monitored their meds and took care of them.) While on Ambien, she did all sorts of weird shite.

She'd wake me up shrieking and I'd go into her room to check on her and she'd insist the shadows on the wall were people coming to attack her. She didn't cook anymore, but we'd find evidence of snacking on all kinds of odd food combinations. This wouldn't have been so bad except she was diabetic and it would really mess up her sugar levels.

The worst was when I found her in the hallway one night armed with two forks that she was planning to use to stab "the bad men" who had broken into our house, only nobody was there. I don't think she would ever intentionally hurt one of the kids or my husband, but I didn't want to find out. I called her doctor the next day to see about getting her off that prescription.

Yep I've done some crazy stuff on Ambien before and had no clue about it. It helped me sleep for sure, but I won't touch it anymore.

Isn't that basically what people did with quaaludes?

Can’t relate to your story but fiancée and I both took some and attempted to have sex. All I’ll say is that stuff is fast acting and hits you like a freight train.

Your fault for not popping a Viagra and Ambien at the same time. Talk about a wild ride

sorry for your loss What other medications was your wife taking? Did she die from driving while on it? I haven’t come across any patients passing away from an overdose when taking it as prescribed. Just curious
