Honest truth right here, but you do have to be certified.

You're good, Sampson. Hail!Hail! had some great words of wisdom. Definitely take those to heart. I haven't been a functional human since my mama died in August. I'm trying to climb out of the hole, but it's tough, man....turn to friends and family for support. Your world hasn't ended.

Just be positive to as many people as you can, and you'll get repaid ten fold. I need to remember this. When I forget that is when I feel shittiest. Stay strong, my man.

When you start actually trying to help yourself and be serious about it, you'll be surprised at how many people will help you.

The fact that you realize and admit it is a step that many people cannot and will not take.

You don't realize it, but your are already on your journey back. You'll be a more wise and thankful person because of it.

On your journey back, you must forget about the things that are beyond your control (and trust me, MOST THINGS in this world are beyond your control), and focus on the few things you can control. Every so often, go for a walk around a pond and feed the ducks, help at a charity, write poems, the key is TO ACT.

Every single person who has gone through tough times experiences the same hard lesson: words are the most overrated things in the history of all things. Words don't do anything. Words don't compel action. They are, as William Faulkner put it, "just shapes to fill a lack."

Do not let words dominate your life. You must do things.

Also, and this is from my own personal times of trouble, you must accept that any past happiness is locked away from you forever. You must look forward, because if you spend your life lamenting about "the good ole days", you will totally destroy a golden opportunity to create new days of joy.

My two points of advice, then, are these:

1) Recognize that words are completely and utterly useless and overrated.

2) Accept that you cannot conquer time in order to bring back the treasure of past euphoria and happiness. Those days are locked forever in memory of golden haze. Instead, look forward and create and make and DO. That is the key word: DO.

Jeez, between this post and half of advice on money talk it's no wonder why this site is so good. Why pay for help when you can come here? I feel like I can run through a brick wall right now. Thanks for this post and good luck with everything OP.

Snap out of it Sampson. Time for an honest self-audit and then you have to get the frick on with things.

Of everything you wrote here is the one that concerns me: I have no friends to confide in anymore bc they are all tired of my perpetual pity party BS and refusal to man up and grow up.

Self-pity kills the human spirit like cancer kills the human body. It's the freaking enemy. I suggest you find a place within yourself of TRUE HUMILITY from all the ego bullshite and start from there. Being stagnant is part of life, at least at some point, almost everybody goes through that. It means you are still trying and that's a good sign.

Work ain't life, btw. It's an expression of life. But it isn't your measure. About the time you really learn that is usually the time that professional success comes. Life is funny that way.

If real, get help. You make paige look mentally adequate.

If fake, get help. You make paige look mentally adequate

It might also help you to take a serious look around at people who are suffering through extremely difficult situations that they didn't necessarily bring upon themselves. I don't know the details of your situation, so I don't know if you're experiencing any type of hardship like that in any way, but I'm guessing that you're not since you mentioned pity parties and self-destructive behavior.

That may help your perspective and cure you of the "perpetual pity party BS".

A12 Step Program would be something to consider at this point. Worked correctly, it can resolve the issues you mentioned that put your current life in shambles.

Yea and probably used some rent or car note money to buy it.

He's not awake yet. When he gets back we need to make his arse apologize for this thread.

I'm not gonna repeat what mine was one time years ago but some know. It happened about 10 am on a game day.

I kind of agreed with him. But mostly because Sams perception of 'shambles' is child's play. But it is all relative and don't want him to hurt himself.
