About a year ago, an older man (70s) posted a video of some kids (but you couldn't really tell at first it was kids) in camo hiding in his bushes at like 3 AM. He came out on the porch with a shotgun and told them to get the frick out of his yard. His post was the video of his doorbell camera and him saying if these are your kids you need to teach them not to do something so stupid and dangerous.

Some lady commented that he was the crazy and stupid one and she's more scared of the guy with the gun. She continued to say she didn't have any guns and you're nuts if you do, and if someone breaks into your house you should just let them take what they want and hide in a closet and call the police.

Like 2 days later she posted that someone broke into her shed and stole like $10k worth of shite

Has anyone successfully deleted their nextdoor account?

I have. I had to email them for them to permanently delete it.

I would like to know why someone would grab a dog that was just minding its own business and poking around and then post that they found a lost dog. Most of the time the dog is on a walkabout and will just go home when it is ready.

It's become a shite show. The worst are the same people, begging for cash or free shite, over and over. It's the same one, always looking for something free or posting their Venmo account to deposits to help them feed their kids, etc.

I laughed one week, same woman, has like 10 kids, always begging at Christmas for people to buy them gifts even though they are all older kids. She posts asking if someone would GIVE her a car. She would trade some stupid shite, like her father (who is elderly) doing light yard work.

How can BREC just block access to the Burbank Dog Park that hundreds of dogs and their families use every week? Without notice? This is cruel and thoughtless. Their decision is going to cost me $$$ in dog walker fees (before posting a judgmental reply: I’m disabled and rely on the dog park for my dog’s daily exercise. MANY other older/disabled people do, too.) Please call BREC to politely complain. (225) 272-9200. They gave us no notice or time to plan alternatives! We don’t even use or mess with the soccer fields! ***UPDATE: My dog was scared at the new park we tried and hid under my legs as I sat on a bench. I hope he’ll soon adjust and enjoy getting some doggy play time & exercise. The park is much smaller but nice, but inaccessible to us weekdays. There were several other folks from Burbank there and they all said the same thing: there was NO NOTICE and no signs warning us about this. None. ***2nd UPDATE: If you are using my post as an opportunity to troll or make viciously personal comments, please don't waste your time. You've been muted.

One thing that actually makes me want to be one of those next door freaks is people using a baseball diamond and basketball court as a dog park when the neighboring dog park is closed. Dog people are so entitled and I hate them.

Had I known how entertaining it would be, I would have registered under an alias and fake address, and just called people out for their pure insanity.

It’s all people bitching and moaning about minute issues. I love the Karen’s and the liberals

These are the same people who walk on the street next to the sidewalk. Always towards traffic and looking right into the drivers window of everyone who passes. F them. Get on the sidewalk idiots.

My neighborhood is mostly old retarded republicans. They’re just as annoying as the retarded liberals.

We have a neighborhood facebook page and four posts come to mind that created quite the stir:

1) mom wears a bikini to neighborhood pool. Enrages other mothers that it was inappropriately revealing around small children

2) Nanny walking to bus stop after work, stops and picks a lemon off of a neighbor's tree. Is that theft? & various nanny tattles, like, if this is your nanny she wasn't engaging with your kids at playground enough.

3) The jewish guy who complains about neighbors putting up christmas lights (at christmas time) because not everyone is christian and it is insensitive to others who have a hard time at the holidays.. I actually chimed in on this one because that guy is such a fricking a-hole.

4) and my favorite: The mom who posted that there was a homeless man with a long gun at the neighborhood park. The mayor had to chime in on this one that the police were notified and the homeless shooter was a work from home dad, practicing his fly fishing cast.

What’s more funnier are the “What’s happening in (insert city) or (insert city) Rants & Raves” FB pages.

The big mouth, stay at home Karen treat being a Mod as a full time job.

The only things in ours are dogs loose (we don't have strays here) and bears.

Typical Next Door Posts:

Beware! A car just pulled into my driveway and turned around! Probably casing the neighborhood!

I’m looking for a reputable and reasonable electrician to change a light bulb. Bonded and insured recommendations only.

My fur baby is loose! Please be on the lookout for him!
(10 minutes later.) RESCUED AND SAFE! He was on the side of the house where I couldn’t see him,
