I got called a racist yesterday.
CSB, maybe:
I was backing out of a gas station parking lot. Slowly, mind you. A rotund black chick w/ her gut hanging out, staring at her phone, starts walking directly toward the back of my truck. I saw what was unfolding and stopped to keep from hitting her. She never looked up until she had to abruptly stop at my bumper. She then starts screaming obscenities at me. It really struck me as funny. So I rolled my window down, laughing, and said "hey, maybe you should quit staring at your phone and watch where you are going". This enraged her fat arse, and while I could not understand much of what she was saying, the gist of it was I was racis, white, and a mutha fricka. I briefly felt compelled to shoot her. But I of course didnt. The saving grace of the situation was the old black man at the gas pump yelling "gull get yo arse in the stoe!" I weep for our children.

I'm sure she did. Thats where the fried food was. When she turned her attention to the dude at the pump I skedaddled. The urge to shoot her was intensifying.

The fake screenshot uses a photo that shows a truck that crashed into a fence outside of the White House in Washington D.C on May 23 (here). Reuters reported on a security incident that day where a rented truck was driven into security barriers near the White House. A Reuters witness said that investigators retrieved a Nazi swastika flag from inside the truck (here).
VERDICT
Altered. The screenshot is not authentic, and the headline was not published by the Atlantic.
