Old sickly man probably has bigger concern that what some ballsack says about temperature. He wants to so see Chita in a sundress telling us whether or not we need an umbrella today and that’s all.

Why isn’t the wind chill used in the summer time? Is there no wind in the summer? Is there no humidity in the winter? Why is it only used to push things to a more extreme?

both wind and humidity make the temperature seem more extreme during the winter…but I get what you are saying.

I visited an old friend a few years ago who lived in Waco. Walked in his home and it was very warm. I asked if his AC was out, he replied no and that he kept the thermostat set at 80. I knew then I'd be getting a motel room for the night

Does this really bother you that much? I never paid much attention to it

A couple of weeks ago one of the weather bimbos in Knoxville read all the real feel temperatures for the region to us, then she read the predicted real feels for the next couple of days.
Somehow she got away with not mentioning the real temperatures at all.

If it feels like 100 then why isn’t it 100?

That much moisture in the air makes it hard for your body to regulate temp because of the rate in which your sweat can evaporate (or not when it's humid).

This is like the speed vs velocity argument.

Temperature and Heat Index are 2 different things at the end of the day.

I go running in the heat of the day. Love it. You’ll never hear me complain that it’s hot. I’m not a pussy.

Agreed, for instance, I rode my bike this morning and when I finished it was 92 feels like 107. Now at 4pm it's 100 feels like 105 so it feels cooler according to the formula. But it's way hotter than at 11 am . A more accurate temp would be that in the sun.

They call it “feels like” because regular people can grasp that better than they grasp the terms “heat index” and “wind chill.”
