Awesome

I did keto for 3 months and lost 40lbs. Not the greatest, but does work if you do it.

I was never fat but I did get pudgy. I started doing little things like drinking water instead of flavored drinks. I ate bacon & eggs for breakfast instead of a protein bar (99% are candy bars in reality). I took the stairs instead of elevators.

Then I dumped sugar and white carbs... almost completely. I don't want anything that isn't clean meats and fresh vegetables. I also dropped every prescription that I was on and got away from doctors because most, and I really mean this, most have no idea what they are talking about and are simply pill pushers. I look great and feel great.

My wife followed my lead and dropped all weight. She looks fantastic. This diet alone helped heal her from about 5 diagnosed chronic illnesses. We also got away from going to the doctors and treat ourselves naturally if we can. We've both never been healthier.

I laugh when anyone talks about a major health epidemic and them not be talking about America's TERRIBLE food diet or Big Pharma. Make no mistake, these are our greatest health issues.

I switched from these to dry roasted peanuts and/or lightly salted popcorn (no butter) for snacks and it makes a huge difference.

Dude, that's awesome. And an inspiring that you did this at 59 years old. I think a lot of people get to a certain age in their head and think that its too late for them to set goals or that it doesn't matter at whatever point they are in their life. Good for you..

Glad to! Salads are a good choice. Add some grilled chicken for protein. Look for leaner cuts of beef like sirloin. Fish is always a good option if not fried. It can be baked with lemon juice and fresh herbs. Tuna salad on fresh tomatoes is a nice cold supper. Use light mayo or replace some of the mayo with salsa.Tastes better than you might think. For fruit try berries as they tend to be lower in carbs. Not bad with Greek yogurt. Greek yogurt has more protein and less fat. It can double as sour cream.

Or to make it even easier, eat as much meat, eggs, and hard cheeses as you want. Don’t eat anything else. MEAT! EGGS! HARD CHEESES!

You will drop weight like crazy and hold on to muscle.

When you say you got woke on your fat problem, what did you mean?

And is being woke on your fat problem a good or bad thing?

Awesome job. Congratulations on your sobriety and your healthy living.

I’m attempting to tackle both of those myself currently.

Tall order to do both at the same time but frick it. I’m tired of going around in the same circle. And for me the alcohol is 75% of my weight issues between the empty calories of the alcohol and eating crap when I drink that I would not other wise eat.
It’s just time.

It’s when lectins and other antinutrients in certain vegetables destroy parts of your gut lining, allowing food particles to leak out from your intestines into your body, causing a chronic autoimmune response.

People just assume that vegetables are good for you, but many of the vegetables humans eat regularly will slowly poison you.

Its much more a chore to eat healthy than it is to eat fast food, so any help is appreciated.

I'm slim and trim and 5 things that my diet mostly consist of are following.

1. Oatmeal
2. Tuna fish
3. Grilled or baked chicken, no skin.
4. Tomatoes
5. Avocados.

Oh, and tortillas. I eat a lot of HEB tortillas.

I splurge on ice cream several nights a week. Two scoops, but I'd pass on that if I had any type of weight concern.
I weight less now that I did in high school. I also walk 15-20 miles a week, great for the body and the mind after working from home all day.

Never felt better physically and mentally, for the most part. Still anxious as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs, but that's just how I'm wired.
