Just called them. The case was moved to tomorrow and then cancelled today.

So I’m good.

I had surgery Wednesday, and on pain pills, so I had an excuse.

I had an employee who didn't show up for work one night. When I called him, he told me he started jury duty that morning and forgot to tell me about it. I wanted to slap the living frick out of him, right there over the phone. How do you forget something like jury duty?

I intentionally missed a few in my 20's. I didn't get another summons until I was 35. That time it was delivered to me by a guy in a white crown vic with a badge and a cheap sport coat.
I went that time, sat around for three hours and then was sent home.

I guarantee you that you would have gotten a bench warrant if you'd skipped that last one. You don't get bench warrants if they send the summons first class snail mail and skip because they can't prove you got it. If they go through the trouble of certified mail or a legally recognized process server (private or government) serving you the summons, they want your arse there and there's a record you were served the summons.

Judges tend to get uptight when you ignore the court.
