People keep saying the R's are going to take over in 2022, but I'm almost positive that they're going to get trucked, almost certainly in key battleground states.

The left is going to have a complete monopoly of federal power for the foreseeable future and republicans are just going to sit in the corner and cry.

Decent chance but that's unrelated to my post of Tennessee not being anywhere close to turning blue anytime soon, baw.

Where you at baw? I'm out in Sumner County. Bought my house for 295 in March (I'm OT poor) and the one across the street (roughly the same sq. footage) and pretty comparable just sold for 415. We've had quite a few move into the neighborhood from Oregon and California.

And I agree with you.. going down to Davidson County is a chore dealing with all those folks. I tend to stay out here in the sticks if I can help it. Still good people out here.

ETA: Boat is right. IIRC there were only three blue counties - Davidson (Nashville), Shelby (Memphis) and one right near Memphis.. somewhere around Ripley, I think. Rest of the state is about as red as you can get.

Yeah, the statewide elections in TN aren't going blue anytime soon.

I predict it'll be blue by either '24 or '26. Probably not deep blue, but blue nonetheless.

That was said about Texas 4 years ago. They've made strides.

They'll turn both states blue. I wouldn't care so much if they weren't progressives, and were liberals instead.

Anywhere where there has been a massive population influx, especially from blue states, is the focus of every progressive political action group right now. It's why they're undermining all election integrity laws in these areas.

If your neighbors cared about this they could turn down offers from CA.

They obviously don’t, so why should you?

Figure out a way to enjoy your life while it all falls apart.

These people are pretty shallow.

Its all about maintaining property value. They're selling for millions in Cal, buying for hundreds of thou in Tennessee, and banking on high real estate prices in the future.

The key to stemming limousine progressivism is to stop them from destroying suburbs and single owner property.

TN is gonna be a blue state in the very near future as the locusts spread their pestilence across red states. We're going to see a pretty radical cultural and political shift in this country as these people keep blindly pushing the Democrat button. ID, MT, AZ, GA and TX are on the chopping block too.

That sucks, but the good thing is that it can only last so long before it collapses. Hopefully we still have our guns at that point. I think I remember about where I lost mine at sea, just going to have to invest in some diving equipment.

Same shite in front range Colorado (Denver/Boulder and surrounding area). I sold my condo in less than 4 hours for more than a ridiculous asking price to some folks from California who didn't even look at the place in person. It is turning into Calirado around here

So you contributed to the situation.

Money was more important to you than helping stop this phenomenon.

Not knocking you, just recognize.

TX ain’t going blue baw, they’ve been saying that for 40 years. It will be a long time. TN damn sure isn’t. I agree it sucks seeing racist white liberals moving into our communities like roaches but you just have to get your kid to beat up their kids.

Saw an article the other day how the western slope is booming and Grand Junction is going to greatly benefit from job creation and economic growth.

Trump made Tennessee go more red. Nashville is turning into an even bigger liberal shite hole but the rest of the state outside of the cities is turning more conservative.
quote:

Winning the state by 708,764 votes, Tennessee gave Trump his largest margin of victory by the number of votes nationally. This is the second consecutive election in which Tennessee was carried by more than 60%.

Republican MOV

1996: Clinton wins by 2.41%

2000: +3.87%

2004: +14.3%

2008: +15.06%

2012: +20.4%

2016: +26%

2020: +23.21%

Meanwhile Texas was won by only 5.58%. Comparing Tennessee to Texas is laughable.

I know of a guy who just moved there from Orange, CA. He is a huge conservative who said he finally had enough of California's bull shite. Maybe they're all like that.

It'll be purple in the near future. It has the potential to be the next VA, which has completed the red to blue switch. But it comes down to policy. It could go blue in 2022 because of the recent abortion law, which is very unpopular in the suburbs. It's why republicans haven't really been celebrating it after 40 years of fighting Roe v Wade.

i mean, most are empty nesters or about to be so they're taking the windfall. why not? cali offers are solid because they are flush with cash from selling their homes. sucks, but whats the incentive to the homeowner to accepting an competing offer from some poor local who is scraping the money together and needs to sell their house to fund the purchase?
