I detest ESPN, but good timing Monday night.

I have expressed my disdain for this network many times, but the programming schedule for Monday night was right on.
It was great to relive the Dome Coming, but the message throughout the broadcast is the message all needed to hear in this tough time ... perseverance.
Many are unemployed - persevere, jobs will return.
The economy may slip into a recession - persevere, a rebound will happen.
Wall Street in the tank - persevere, record gains are coming.
NOLA and the Saints were a team in those tough days. A great example of what will be needed when the dust settles today. Life is a Team Sport.

Why any SEC fan would detest ESPN is beyond me. They've been the biggest cheerleader for the SEC football for well over a decade. That's why the rest of the country hates ESPN and the SEC.

I watched the beginning of it. I still remember watching it live like it was yesterday. I was at a friend's apartment and it was a group of us.. Eating deer chili, playing cards and watching the game. We were going nuts.

Pointing out obvious superiority and talking about results isn’t cheerleading for someone. Cheerleading for someone is ESPN saying USC in 05 could have beat the greatest teams ever, or that ND is a national championship caliber team in 12 or actively campaigning for the OSU UM rematch in 06.
ESPN has been a cheerleader for everyone else more so than the SEC because having good teams all
Over the country is good for their business.

They hype up the dominate conference. SEC dominance led to ESPN cheering for them not the other way around.

I will be honest, at one point I would only watch sportscenter, game day and games on ESPN, but like I said they put an end to all of that shite.

But the problem was even sportscenter started to have political/social leanings and leads. I mean shite, they put Michael Smith and Jamelle Hill in their prime time 6 o'clock sportscenter spot.

Tough to make that call because the market is rallying a bit. We will see how the CARES act has an impact, but unemployment has already jumped about 5% - not to mention reduced hours / underemployment. Supply chains are a mess.
Recession seems pretty likely from what I'm looking out. The duration of which is the real question IMO.

ESPN shows "personal" bias against the SEC and toward B10, ND, etc. however.
ESPN wants the $$$ from SEC glory, they also want to be at the front of the line to cover any SEC drama/scandal. ESPN's ideal scenario is getting SEC viewership because of the SEC's popularity, but on something bad rather than something good. It fits perfectly into their romanticized views of more enlightened midwest/NE schools and their ridiculous caricatures of dumb, cheating, racist, Republican SEC schools.

ESPN has a contract with the SEC. They have the ESPN SEC network. What other conference does ESPN have a network for?
Based on rating, the Southeastern part of the country is the ONLY region where CFB is more popular than the NFL, which pretty much crushes everything else in ratings.
They are not going to be SEC all of the time because the can't be obviously biased. But the SEC makes ESPN a lot of money.

ACC for certain. And I know ESPN shows a lot of big ten games early in the day. Basically the entire eastern half of the country is shown by ESPN

There’s the ACC Network which is owned by Mickey Mouse
Longhorn Network
The Big Ten and PAC-12 are the only two conferences that majorly on FOX, and that’s just a few national games
