I broke the "pay for the person behind you" chain in the drive thru and karma struck

Guy in front of me, in a beat up old truck with a "Hillary for Prison" decal, paid for my drink in the drive-thru.

I noticed the guy behind me took a LONG time to order. When hearing my low-cost order was paid for, I said awesome, thanks, and left instead of continuing the chain.

I get home. I promptly drop my drink on the ground and the cup explodes. Then, my internet dropped during an important early morning meeting.

Karma? Should I have kept the chain going?

Bad juju and now you’re probably getting fired as a result. Congrats on the impending welfare

That’s actually a standard feature for the beat up pickups

This is the problem with this deal. Yeah, the guy in front of you pays for your drink. Meanwhile, the office manager behind you is ordering breakfast for the office.

Probably so.

Nah.

I have yet to have this happen to me... not sure if I would break the chain or not. Chances are I'm coming out ahead if I just keep it going, but you never know.

Someone paid for me Ex-girlfriends set of tires one time. I was away, so she went to the Honda place on Seigan for something, and ended up getting talked into a set of tires. She claims that she sat in the waiting area and hardly talked to anyone and when the car was ready, they brought her a receipt that said fully paid for by the older man that was now gone but was in the room with her.

I know her well enough to know she talks talks talks so she probably complained a lot about me and some of the bullshite I was up to at the time. Either way, a stranger paid for over $800 in tires for her. Crazy.

Before you say it, I don’t believe she gave him a BJ in the parking lot. I saw the receipt and he wrote something on it about God and doing things for others. Seemed like a religious guy. Even quotes a Bible scripture.

That is supposed to be a chain? I thought it was just a random act of kindness. I doubt the guy in the truck wanted to start some chain foolishness.

there are people out there like that. Not all of the people are shitty. But is it wrong to choose who you give to like he did? What is it that makes me angry when someone tries to guilt them into donations?

If it becomes a chain, it’s no longer a random act of kindness. You’re all still paying for an order.

I’ve never had anyone in a drive thru pay for me and I’ve never offered to pay for anyone else.

I don’t see that changing.
