I know there are a few GMT400 baws here so figured I'd share this 1999 Z71.

Looked for a clean one for 6 months or so, bought this one in Florida and drove it 15 hours home around February 10th.

Got hailed on March 14th.

Old enough to not have a ton of electronic BS, young enough to still be fairly comfortable to travel in and get decent fuel economy.

Fair enough.

Old = you can fix it

New = you can no longer fix it

That truck is old enough to rent a car by itself

Body has 160k, motor has 3k. Paid $10k and will probably have $15k in it by the time it's over.

Wouldn't be surprised if insurance tries to total it out from the hail damage, book value is probably only $7k or so.

Frick yea son, that’s awesome!

ETA About 10 years ago I saw someone selling a 97 or 98 for like $4000 and couldn’t convince my wife to let me buy it.

I had a 95 Chevy model just like that one, same color and all.

Was a heckuva truck.

The prices are getting ridiculous.

Baws who were teens and 20s in the 90s are buying them like previous generations bought muscle cars once they were 40 or 50.
