Yeah, maybe w/in 10 miles of halfway but pretty much the halfway point.
I think Soperton is halfway.

I think we can all sympathize with wanting to run into an overpass while making that drive
It's easy to get distracted when you scratch your head asking yourself how it is possible to stare at the same pine tree for two hours.

170mi/1.5hrs = 113mph on average

but dump truck drivers are some of the worst drivers on earth. They floor it and act like they’re driving a Dodge Charger.
That’s what you get when you get paid per load but also have to abide by driving logs

There’s no reason for them to be doing 80, while hauling a load of gravel. They’re shitty drivers.

I’ve driven I-16 from start to finish more times than I can count. I would rather drive from Macon to Texas than I had I-16 to Savannah

Im confused, did the truck have its bed up and hit the overpass?
Yep.
Same thing happened on I 459 in Birmingham a few years ago. The dump bed detached after hitting the overpass and killed a motorist on his morning commute.

In to a pillar? Do you know what a pillar is.....because that truck didn't hit a pillar.

had a similar issue with a truck that hit the overpass to the rest area on 65N of Birmingham a few years ago - it shifted that one also - not as badly, but it caused some issues

I used to live in Statesboro and would haul arse on the road…as did a bunch on cute GA Southern girls.

One of my customer’s drivers did that under the intracoastal bridge in PA. I think he’s still in litigation with DOTD for repairs to the underside of the bridge. It makes for an impressive accident scene, though!

This overpass is on the same exit we used when we stayed at an AirBnB in south central Georgia the night before my baby sis graduated Georgia Southern.
Could have been you. Really makes you think.

Saw this yesterday. I have no idea how that is even possible. But that bridge was ,and now is, in need of replacement.

Who is going to have to pay to fix that? Tax payers? Insurance co?
That’s going to be a very costly f-up.

That's a helluva shift for a fixed roadway, but that ain't no 6 feet.
3 feet maybe, judging by the white line offset. Still pretty impressive.
Probably someone related to my wife that stated that. She and her whole family exaggerate virtually every statistic, even mundane ones.
Example: She'll tell her folks "I worked in the yard gardening for 8 hours yesterday", when in fact she may have gone outside a total of 3 hours, including an hour lunch.

The driver is good. His female companion suffer a few bumps and bruises. Picked her up at a truck stop.
