The guy suggesting it was eastbound threw me off.
Yeah- sorry... I meant to type west bound. But I had the detour plan correct.

Just one. Truck is on the barrier, trailer is across the lanes

It’s HAZMAT because EDC was being transported in one of the tankers. EDC is nothing nice.

You think they have pagers that all go off instantaneously when something happens on I-10?
You know every last fricker that's able to write a ticket in that shithole is out there today.

Yep.
Jersey barrier even went through the cab apparently.
Someone on the WAFB FB page asked if that "was an arm" in the video under the door. Really freaking me out and I'm in the comfort of home.
Friend of mines husband was killed when their truck was struck from behind (18 wheeler I think) and their truck caught on fire. He was the only one killed in the accident. I go over that bridge often and really dislike it but I've got places to be.

We traveled I-10 way more than usual for us this summer and I can tell you I didn't see any a-hole truckers. I saw plenty of a-hole drivers going 80+ on that bridge, construction or not. And MANY had Texas plates.

If i still lived out there i'd open a bar near that rest area at Butte la Rose. Seems like you'd be extremely busy at least every two weeks with all the wrecks on or near there that bridge.

Heard State Trooper Sgt David say there were injuries but in all fairness he was on his way to the scene and not on it at the time.
Don't worry - there will be a lot of "my back" and "my neck" injuries to several drivers who were in any remote vicinity to this.

Why the frick did they just use the emergency alert system to alert us to this closure?
Posted on 8/17/18 at 8:39 am to upgrayedd
Jeez that's bad. It's ok though. Just take the loop, BR fam.

Why the frick can't people just drive in a straight line without being retarded?
Posted on 8/17/18 at 8:39 am to FLObserver
Dang just got an alert on my phone for this. What was the truck carrying?

I heard someone say it was carrying hazardous material. Not sure how true that is since there are so many people close to it.

Driving is boring. Need to check that social media to stay alert.

Yeah, I'm on the interstate quite a bit and truck drivers are rarely a problem.
Last week though I did see a pretty bad accident that was partly to blame on one though. Home boy must have been having mechanical issues and was doing about 20mph in right late with hazard lights on. He had just passed an exit so he should have gotten off.
I came upon him pretty fast and was able to brake and get around. Watched in my mirror and saw someone go flying into the median and ram the steel guard wires and fly back into the interstate. I have to assume they were then struck by someone else with the amount of grass and smoke flying up.

How does one even accomplish that??
You ever try driving a big rig in a straight line? Didn't think so.
