Baby steps.

Hopefully they get started with the section down to LA30 within the next few years. Wish they'd do more than one exit at a time.

Yep. That combined with turning LA 1 into a freeway with feeder roads on the west bank would get things moving pretty well. That's a nice alternative route to I-10.

its not bad once you get past prairieville. they are the problem too many people for just one exit essentially.

It would make storm evacuations a little bit easier. And the spillway bridge potentially safer

I think all of I-10 and I-12 should be at LEAST 6 lanes everywhere in LA, and I-10 should be at least 6 lanes from Houston to Destin.

It is retarded that there can be traffic on those two interstates on the weekends during the summer when there isn't an accident.

Need a Plaquemine bridge more.

This route could also be used as a bypass loop.

It's just an obscene amount of money for something that's happened twice in my almost 32 years on this planet. There's not much benefit to that kind of investment.

This.

And 8 lanes through Baton Rouge. Parallel routes like 190 also need to be at least 4 lanes.

The same thing was said about loops for Baton Rouge and more infrastructure expansion in town. It certainly looks stupid now as they clearly didn't plan ahead for the explosion in population growth.

It's better to build it now just in case instead of regretting it decades down the road where everybody is begging for it. South Louisiana is growing and you have to plan ahead and very little to nothing is overkill when it comes to that.

The problem is it slows down in areas where there are 6 lanes already. Yes, the Mobile tunnel is 4 lane, but people are going to slow down for that regardless of how many lanes for the same reason people slow down on the high rise. Doesn't matter how many lanes there are.

Good lord. So they are going to waste what, 50 million on this? Then there is the useless $60 million interchange at pecue and i10. Yet the place there is an actual problem, they ignore and act like it doesn't exist.

It's the bridge, stupid!

That's not even remotely the same as adding lanes to a stretch of interstate that never backs up outside of accidents.

I don't disagree that here was alack of foresight there, but that doesn't justify adding lanes to 50 miles of interstate for no reason. You would have to see (unrealistically IMO) monumental population growth south LA to justify it.
