I don’t know. I used to think of retiring in TN. I’ve even thought of MS, but it’s no better than Louisiana. I’m tired of poor gov., infrastructure and high cost of living, getting nothing in return for what it costs. I’ve lived here a long time and my parish is going to sh*t. But my grands are here across the lake and I don’t want to have to schedule trips to visit by moving far away.

Yep. Would be different if you have a career that translates to more money there, but for my wife and I, Louisiana offers the same pay for cheaper living

Pacific coast of Mexico, Philippines, Cashiers NC or south east Florida somewhere around Stuart. If I had no family and the money to live comfortably I would be based in Stuart but would spend summers in Cashiers area and some of the year in the other 2 fishing. Panga fishing is cheap in Mexico and the Philippines and catching sailfish around Stuart is about like catching bream in Georgia. I would set up my sawmill business in NC somewhere where high quality hardwoods grow like weeds and mill high end domestic hard wood and blow the proceeds on catching sailfish!

if you headed north you would have circumnavigated the globe the hard way and wind up right back where you started. And you would have done so with a rowdy black bitch in tow.....each to his own but I think I would just circumnavigate the globe in the easier manner with or without the rowdy black bitch....
