No. NHC doesn’t even have anything highlighted in that region for possible development.

I'm a little surprised they haven't named it yet...

Well there's not a well defined circulation...

FWIW, my attention is firmly turned toward the Cabo Verdes for a potential long tracker.

Are you referring to the area just west of the Cape Verdi islands and forecast to move NW into the North Atlantic? Or, am I missing one?

Different thing, NHC aint highlighting it yet. Wave just about to/just has come off Africa.

Ensembles are starting to bite.

Idalia appears to be one of those storms that just won't die. The NHC has her as a tropical storm through at least Tuesday.

lower level winds definitely look ripe for that wave to go due west through the MDR into the caribbean.

edit: LINK

The overall environment for this wave looks *very* favorable for development over the coming week or so & there's honestly not a whole lot more you could really ask for this far out:

Anomalously deep moisture NW of the wave axis (associated w/ Invest #94L) near the coast of Africa protects the wave from dry air CHECK

Favorable Convectively Coupled Kelvin Wave (CCKW) passage arrives within a few days CHECK

Favorable deep-layer wind shear CHECK

Anomalously warm Sea Surface Temperature Anomalies (+SSTa) CHECK

Near-peak seasonal climatology CHECK

Significant & generally consistent model support (esp from the ECMWF/EPS) CHECK

Has anyone heard from FLboo? He said they were going to hunker down for the storm but he doesn't appear to have posted since.
