I would imagine we have landfall now or imminently. NHC will likely say as much in 20 minutes with the next update.

They’re saying “imminent” right now.

I’ve been listening to Fox News on the radio for the past 45 minutes and if I had a dollar for every time they said
Rapid intensification
Storm Surge
Imminent
I’d have 400 dollars

The fact that all of the storm chaser streams suck right now is a good thing for folks.

great animation showing idalia's path and strengthening through the gulf

#Idalia's trek across the Gulf of Mexico to landfall in #Florida Big Bend region as seen by NWS radars. It rapidly intensified to a Category 4 hurricane and began to weaken just slightly right at landfall, but too late and not enough to make a difference. LINK

You should buy him a premium membership for his birthday.

How “imminent”?
On some boards and the media, the “imminent” hasn’t even happened yet despite being said nearly 3 years ago.

Storms along the northern gulf coast typically weaken before landfall due to the water getting more shallow. Looks like this one isn’t going to do much damage for a Cat3 given how fast it’s moving and it’s a small hurricane

station KTNF1 from landfall
