Seriously, it’s July 4th. The peak of hurricane season is August and September. There is a long way to go before declaring this hurricane season a “bust.”

El Niño should largely tamp down hurricanes in the MDR reaching the gulf because the Caribbean would be hostile. Anything in the gulf would likely have to originate in the gulf or maybe shoot through the Florida keys
