How does a 45mph storm cause 5 deaths? Afternoon thunderstorms here have been exceeding that.

Tropical Weather Outlook
NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL
200 PM EDT Sat Jul 12 2025
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of America:
1. Near the Southeastern U.S.:
A broad area of low pressure could form over the next several days
offshore of the southeastern U.S. coast. Environmental conditions
could become marginally conducive for the gradual development of
this system by mid to late next week as the system moves generally
westward across the Florida Peninsula and over the eastern and
north-central portion of the Gulf. Regardless of development, heavy
rainfall is possible over portions of the Florida Peninsula and
southeast U.S. coast through mid to late next week.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...low...20 percent.

WE wouldn't be having this storm if Trump hadn't of been a big meanee to those important government workers. ---CNN

Time to put some SeaFoam into the generator.

This is why “There are more storms now than ever before”. Fifty years ago that little fotknocker wouldn’t have even made the news.
I think it is time to come up with a new scale for naming systems to lessen the number of named weaker systems:
59 MPH and below tropical depression (no name)
60-79 MPH Tropical Storm
80-99 MPH Category 1 Hurricane
100-119 MPH Category 2 Hurricane
120-139 MPH Category 3 Hurricane
140-159 MPH Category 4 Hurricane
160 and above Category 5 Hurricane

Nope I saw it as it is. My mistake was thinking we’d get some homebrew storms

This attempt at humor is denied and I hereby declare that no hurricanes are allowed to threaten the Gulf until after Labor Day.
