Recon plan for tomorrow near Breton Sound east of Port Sulphur in morning then south of Cocodrie in the evening.

I guess they are still giving it a chance of forming just offshore, but it is not showing signs of doing so yet.

Oh my God, not gusty winds, lightning that happens to be dangerous, and heavy rainfall!

The Graf had beginners luck, it called Laura strengthing on approach when others didn’t and ever since then he’s used it like the gospel.

Except that he was showing it that night and calling for 100+ mph winds in Lafayette and it topped out around 50 mph.

I'm no meteorologist but even I know that a strengthening hurricane at landfall usually means a bit of a smaller windfield of hurricane-force winds. If Laura were weakening at landfall, it would've started to unwind itself, causing the higher winds to spread out more. He should have known this and never called for 100mph winds in Lafayette when the eye was passing over Lake Charles.

I see the usual first potential threat of the season hysteria is running wild. It's not even named yet and some are acting like the apocalypse it at hand.

If anything, everyone’s acknowledging this won’t be much of anything.

Why they have not canceled this yet is beyond me.

Missing a weekend might be the difference between Jaxxyn or Braydyn making it to the Show and topping out at AAA ball.

Really hate when there’s dangerous lightening. It gives lightening a bad name and ruins it for those of us who enjoy playing with lightening the other 90% of the time.

I don’t think Gray would cheap out on their meteorologists. Gray might actually increase some weather exposure on KATC, and replace that awful news format back to a traditional format.

Maybe Gray could pull what James Spann is doing in Alabama and create a Louisiana online weather channel especially since they own a station in every Louisiana market.
