It shifted east by the latest trajectory too

Shear has displaced convection off to the east, so the area that was favorable for the new LLC to form shifted east. If Fred were to get stronger than expected, that would also adjust things eastward again.

Fred looks to be projected literally to head down my street.

However, HWRF doing dumb stuff again...

HWRF was pretty damn accurate last season. You all keep dismissing it like it’s the crazy uncle, but had Laura dead on balls accurate. Same for Delta.

We left Perdido Key 48 hours ago.
Looks like the eye is headed straight for it.

It's been pretty awful this season. It has a high intensity bias and last year it seemed like every system went RI. So maybe last season was just playing into the HWRF bias?

That’s a lot of land interaction.

Luckily she is going over all that land. If not, grace could have been a monster

Looks like Grace is going to take the hard way to get South of La.
As we all know, mid to late August and the GOM are prime for hurricanes. Grace shouldn’t be that well organized, but you never know. No reason to panic and every reason to take inventory and plan for what if.

Last couple of model runs for both GFS and Euro appear to show Grace doesn't survive her trip across the islands. Going to be interesting to watch, hope that turns out to be the case!

The NHC mentions that there is a lot of uncertainty around future intensity but they have Grace as a strengthening system out in the Gulf on Friday.

I think Fred identifies as a female. It doesn't know where the hell it's going. When I went to bed last night it was headed straight up Mobile Bay

latest GFS just out has Fred a little stronger at landfall than previous run - 995 mb and totally dissipates Grace.
