I'm the eternal optimist but SAL isn't exactly potent where these systems are currently located, or where they are headed. SAL goes bye bye in mid-August and we're already seeing its decline.

Because it's wrong. Go look at the current placement of SAL and these systems. And like I posted, SAL is diminishing by the day. It will likely have one big final push, then it's gone. This happens every single year.

Because things change. We're continuing to see the background state and overall climatology evolve to a more favorable setup for the MDR and the Tropical Atlantic. This has been forecast for weeks, and it is coinciding with the historical peak of hurricane season.
