Isn't it predicted to fade when it makes its northern turn?
Thought I heard Bruce Katz say this..

Is Jolene on the list this year?

Tell you what…Gulf of America has played some excellent defense against storms so far.
Coach Trump’s decision to put him in the game and bench Mexico has been YUGE so far.

Is Dolly producing titty milk?

Not sure how we can say for sure it’s not a gulf threat based on that track. Any explanation?

NHC has put two 10% on the board.

Gulf threat can frick right off.

The 20 year olds at NHC definitely named Dolly for a day just so they could have the novelty of naming it Dolly right after Dolly Parton died. Those fish it moved over really needed to be warned.

What’s the odds of getting a TS named Dolly when Dolly Parton dies?
I feel like there’s some obscure bet someone made on an app that just won bank on this

Aren’t the storm names decided way before the season starts?
Posted on 8/29/26 at 6:33 pm to deltaland
Yes we knew these names in January

The names are actually on a six year name rotation. Unless a name is retired for being a storm of significance, every six years the names repeat. There have been 10 storms name Dolly in the Atlantic. 14 world wide.
In the Atlantic Ocean:
Hurricane Dolly (1953) – strong hurricane that weakened rapidly before passing over Bermuda
Hurricane Dolly (1954) – stayed far from land
Hurricane Dolly (1968) – moved up the east coast of the United States but did not make landfall
Tropical Storm Dolly (1974) – did not strike land
Hurricane Dolly (1996) – made landfall at Quintana Roo, Mexico and again at Tamaulipas, Mexico
Tropical Storm Dolly (2002) – never threatened land
Hurricane Dolly (2008) – Category 2 hurricane that caused $1.5 billion in damage to Texas and Mexico
Tropical Storm Dolly (2014) – made landfall in Mexico
Tropical Storm Dolly (2020) – formed off the coast of the United States as a subtropical depression
Tropical Storm Dolly (2026) – currently active

It’s always 10% before it becomes 90%

A pretty good rule of thumb: don't post accounts that post the Canadian model
With that said, conditions do become more favorable for development across the Gulf later next week.

That happens for 100% of the systems that develop.

What does that have to do with naming a wave for 24 hours just so they can get some likes on twitter
Naming the next storm, which was going to be Dolly, the day after she died gets a lot more engagement than doing it a week+ later.
