Hehe. That's why I like to casually throw out that the NHC has decreased the size of the cone for this season due to getting more and more accurate. It always rustles some folks.

1. Northern Gulf of Mexico: An area of low pressure centered over the northwestern Gulf of Mexico continues to produce disorganized showers and thunderstorms. This system is forecast to move slowly westward or west-southwestward and approach the coast of Texas during the next two days. Slow development of the low is possible, and it could become a short-lived tropical depression near the coast before it moves inland. Regardless of development, heavy rain will be possible along portions of the Texas coast later this week. For more information about the potential for heavy rain, please see products issued by your National Weather Service office. * Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...40 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...medium...40 percent.

Ive said it before, but the past few years they have been on the money on the track. The intensity, not as much.
It is crazy to look back at the old cones vs what we deal with now.

Hoping for some rain out of this

Hoping for this crap weather to clear up for the long july 4th weekend.
Either give me 90+ degree clear sunny days or give me 80 degree rainy all day.
But the little showers everyday that for 2 weeks straight make for sweaty, cloudy humid days.

The size of the cone hasn't actually changed. They just zoom further away from the map.

Will this increase the rain chances for Sela?

Maybe. As it works it's way on land it will get picked up and drift Eastward. Models vary with how well it holds together as it moves East, and thus how much rain SE LA gets.

Junk system. Here we go trying to name everything to get those storm totals up.

I think it’s more the insurance industry lobbying to get a name attached to every storm so the hurricane/wind storm deductible kicks in. Surprised the invest that hits Houston today didn’t get a name. It’s why I switched from State Farm to USAA.

Yep. Gotta pump those numbers to get to 20 names. It's BS

It also fits a climate change narrative.
