Appears to be a pretty compact system on that run, that would increase the chances of RI. The time over water before the Yucatan is big, how fast it organizes there will play a role in how fast it recovers after the Yucatan. Obviously, time over Yucatan matters as well.
So everything matters!?
It's 2017. So of course there's four open questions on strength, a cold front coming late, another wave that may affect Nate, an upper low moving west across the gulf, and it'll be hauling arse.

That's the thing I'm wondering here. The tracks keeping changing the projected path when it hits land. This seems to be timing also that could possibly help someone like Louisiana? Yesterday the Euro had the storm hitting land almost 24 hours after the GFS. The path is tight and they seem to be in more agreement today but still looks like they have some variables to look at on it. Earlier the models basically had this storm as nothing by the time it hit Louisiana now they're back to it getting a little stronger as a hurricane. Models yesterday were worse. They need to get some data on this storm after it comes off land.

I am between the 17th street canal and Bonnabel, and that's what I was referencing. My street floods, because my block only has one drain that we share with Vets. It only floods on the closest 1/3 of the block to Vets. Drains within 5 minutes of the rain slowing down.

As a teacher, I wish you would've noticed the part of my post that said "not all teachers". Makes me sad for the kids you or your spouse must teach.

My teachers use to bitch during hurricanes. It was the opposite of what you said. They'd complain the day needed to be made up and then they'd need extra work because they were 1 day behind minimum after a hurricane even when it didn't do much.

You must be a teacher. If the storm does head our way, que the onslaught of anger from teachers that this storm had the nerve to come through on a weekend and not cancel school.
LOL... wife posts on FB... can't believe a hurricane is going to come through not only on a weekend, but we already have monday off!! (for the first time ever... they are getting columbus day off as the teachers wanted a three day weekend in the fall)

If anyone is wondering why the models are struggling on the uptake with Nate, just look at the mess theOG just posted.

I grew up in that hood. Don't remember it every flooding when I was a kid. Obvi my parents house flooded for Katrina.

You're a dumbass. It's fall break, the teachers are already off Monday and Tuesday. You've got no clue what teachers go through on a daily basis or how hard they work. Does one lazy teacher make them all lazy? Does one bad cop make them all bad? You're definitely the f-tard in this thread.

Ours did too. But I went to good schools where the teachers went to college to become teachers and didn't use it as a fall back career because they didn't know what else to do with their college degree.
But I digress. I'm trying not to stoke the flames but these teachers within the thread are being so fun.

Finally got that to load on my tablet. That's what I wanted to see.
Is there any apps out there for Windows 10 or iOS that give good radar images like this?

I wonder if a flight from Dallas to New Orleans will still be able to make it Saturday afternoon.
You are above the cloud deck for like 35min. I am sure it will be fine.
DFW to MSY is 1hr 5 min and half of it is climb / descent.
