Anyone know why Cantore isn't ever in the major landfall city anymore? He was in Corpus during Harvey, not near Marco Island for Irma, and now Orange Beach for Nate.

It's been really difficult to nail down the exact landfall location and impacts. TWC has been wiffing on exact location a couple of days out when planning who goes where.

The highways leading out of that dump are enough to bring a tear to the eye.

For Harvey, they were pretty certain a day out where it would make landfall. Nate has been slightly consistent too and he was in Gulfport earlier this week. Irma, we all know that storm wandered all over the place.

He's like me as I get older.

I don't want to be without access to AC or real food for even a second.

They have to place him early, like a day out. They probably followed the east shift from the NHC this morning and placed him too far east.

Harvey looked like a sure thing for Corpus impacts until the day of where the focus shifted a little north.

Nate and Harvey had small huge wind impacts with subtle differences making a difference.

Sad!

Seriously. People get mad if you jump into stuff ton warn them. They get mad if you don't make a big enough deal. They ignore early warnings to be ready, and complain if you oversell an event.

There's just no fricking winning.

Jeff periscope live from Daulphin island. He really has to sell this storm so far

He was flipping out about getting hit with debris - it was a small styrofoam cooler top

What am I supposed to do with 15 cases of water, 10 lbs of cold cuts and 17 sheets of plywood? I spent $980 at Walmart and HomeDepot for a breeze and a sprinkle.

Does anyone know what vehicle Cantore is in?

I was in Orange Beach earlier today and I passed a TV crew in a wrapped Tahoe/Suburban. They were at a public beach interviewing. I stopped to fill up at a gas station and buy drinks. As I came out to my truck, a guy walked up asking several people for interview as a gas station employee put up metal hurricane guard up in front of the glass. The crew was looking hard for reaction but everyone just wanted to get gas and get out. I never saw anyone dressed as a reporter, just producer looking guy doing legwork and a cameraman. There was a third guy with them at the public beach. I couldnt see what the vehicle wrap said nor did I see any logos on shirts.

Jeff is riding this out on DI? While Nate doesn’t seem to be packing a punch that island gets pummled.

Major props if he’s chilling on the west end.

I'm happy to be sparred from the storm. It's better to take it seriously and be happy with no activity than the other way around.
