Does anyone think its strange that these hurricanes, starting from Beryl in July that hit Houston is starting by the Bay of Campache or in the Southern gulf and picking up crazy steam before slamming into the US. I thought the worst hurricanes start off the coast of Africa, coming via the Caribbean islands? Its very odd a lot of these this year are coming from the same area. Just an observation.
I agree. It’s very very odd. After my half a century, I never have seen anything like this.

all the wind is lateral as opposed to the updrafts and downdrafts in a regular thunderstorm.
Anything with large hail in has extreme up and down drafts. Milton is this supercharged, It's like a cement mixer and a centrifuge combined.

I mean I didn't say it was comfortable. Just not as violent as a thunderstorm. Not even the Hurricane Hunters would fly through a well developed thunderstorm on purpose. Those things will rip the wings off of even the sturdieat airplanes.
Did you watch this? Didn't really think about it that way, but I can see it...

Has Tampa allowed itself to be annexed by Lebanon?
Just trying to think ahead of the curve.

Its so hard understanding the weather, and understanding why this weather control stuff is so fricking stupid. And then I have to act like I respect y'all when you ask a weather question in these threads.

How's your list of people in the path, tiger?

This kind of storm changes lives… this will be on Betsy. Camille. Andrew and Katrina levels. I hope the people in it’s path are prepared

we're getting out. Milton can go to hell
Do yourself a favor. go south over the Skyway, missing all of the traffic, go to Weston and get a room for a few days. It's decent down there, not overly crowded and plenty of food.
ETA: Can you dump a few bags of ice in the Gulf on your way out, then have your neighbors do the same? TIA

i'm sick. this is like a slow motion train wreck.
so many people will lose everything in a few days. you can't protect against a storm of this magnitude.
thank the good lord it's a small one.

Earlier this month, more than 100 pounds of cocaine worth $1 million washed up on a beach in the Florida Keys in the aftermath of Hurricane Debby. The U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) in Miami reported that the storm blew ashore 25 packages of cocaine totaling up to 70 pounds onto a beach in the Florida Keys.
25 lbs got lost between the Keys and Miami. Noice.

Are you saying they can't control any of this?
