Second pass of recon through center looks like due east movement along 22.5N.

The Tierra Verde landing was actually worse for Tampa but better for you.
Either way, all of the barrier islands that have not gotten near to cleaned up yet are finna take an arse whoopin'. This was the last thing they needed.

Thanks a ton for that.
I had no idea so many people that post on Tigerdroppings live on the west coast of Florida. This hurricane and Helene has brought us all out. Hell, there are like 3 of us that just live in the tiny town of Punta Gorda.
Who knew a guy named Chicken would be such a uniter?

How can you just leave out Dhillip, Little Dhillip, Larry Leo, and "Staff Reporter"???
Like what they do doesn't matter???

Probably need pics of wives for ID purposes after the storm. You know, safety and all.

If you make it through, make sure the Venetian Gardens facility off of Center near Jacaranda is OK
Literally 5 minutes down the road. We are at the Venice Golf and Country Club. The main entrance is on Jacaranda. Your inlaws are close to that shopping center with the Sweet Bay grocery store.

Just once again give a shout out to rds, Duke, Legend and all the weather baws for the information and explanations. My wife used to give me the side eye when I made decisions based off of Tigerdroppings. Now several hurricane seasons later, she asks me what are the weather baws saying.
Also shout out to Rummy for keeping the threads on the rails.

Hey weather geeks,
I just looked at all the new “technically still experimental” hurricane models and are we really talking about a Cat 4 hitting around Tampa or did I misread the stuff.

You are in South Florida? I thought you were in Tallahassee? You practice there?

Larry Leo,
Only if Paige Spiranic is in the path of the hurricane will Larry's talents be needed.

Definitely not a fun forecast. I'm in Orlando just south of Disney (within 10 miles of the parks) and half of the models have the storm coming in just north of Tampa, which takes it essentially right over my townhome and right over Disney. The other half of the models have it now going about 50 miles south and due to that going more through far southern Polk and Osceola counties, significantly farther away from Orlando and Disney.
I hate for anyone to get this though. I just drove over to Pass-A-Grille Beach today to help with some cleanup for a few hours. After the clean up I drove up to Clearwater Beach before heading back to the Orlando area. The amount of debris is just amazing, TV really doesn't do it justice. The other problem that everyone sees is that all this debris could easily become projectiles. It's the last thing the area needs.
I will also say that I've never seen Clearwater Beach so abandoned as it is right now. I give people credit, they are staying away and local authorities are keeping people away. All beach access is closed right now, even in Clearwater Beach, unless you are staying at a hotel (or parking at a hotel) and then walking over. I saw a whopping 5 people walking to and from the beach at Clearwater Beach. To say it's still a mess is an understatement.

I also didn't know. I know I don't count since I'm in Central Florida but still great to see so many on here from Florida in general.
I will also say, after helping out today, tried to go over to Frenchy's in Clearwater. Even they are still closed which really shows how bad it is.

They're near the Winn-Dixie, but he used to work for Publix so he won't shop anywhere else.

I live up in Apollo. Have a bunch of properties in Venice and north port. I've had a law practice in SRQ/Venice now for almost a decade. Small world. I have a ton of contacts in the area if your family does need anything. They should be fine since they are so far from the coast
