St Pete is better on elevation than much of south Tampa. The exception being Lido Key, Bird Key, Sarasota beach down Casey Key road.
Nothing higher than 5’ elevation I can see on the topo maps there. The mainland ramps up to 10-15 pretty quickly for almost all of it.

What struck me with this event was that area of robust thunderstorms that was routinely located northeast of Milton - it seemed once that area weakened/ dissipated so did Milton. It was almost like that area thunderstorms continued to provide/maintain deep moisture (especially on the northwest/north sides - thus preventing any dry air from entraining…

Those asshats who predict this are both politically and emotionally retarded. Wishing destruction on someone and then being disappointed said destruction wont be as bad is fricking terrible. I'm glad it's weakening because Helene already went through so trees are now more of an issue in Round 2 and debris for obvious reasons. Heck a Cat 3 might be worse because of the time proximity.
