Seems like this one is fizzling out into just a rainmaker.

Competition between the wave and the vort(s)in the cag probably yields a messy system at best.

Glad to hear. Kept the window units in the garage until Helene went somewhere else just in case, would be pissed if I had to take them right back out

Just heard a new to me weather term… gyre!
Should it be added to the Bingo card?

This one may be a good case of upwelling causing significant weakening. That's what they're forecasting, a very slow moving storm that pulls cool water to the surface essentially creating it's own weakening trend.

Are we still calling this hurricane season a dud?

To meet the forecasts for a hyper active season? Yes, it is still a bust of a forecast in that regard.
ETA: One storm, no matter how bad it is, doesn't change the overall forecast. We could still wind up slightly above average for the season, but that would still be well shy of what many forecasted. It is important to keep that in mind when the climate change hysteria gets drummed up after this storm.

Gonna end up being an average season.
And the “experts” really need to rethink making season predictions at all.
Of course they wont stop doing it, it keeps them relevant outside the season

Until AI can take over and actually get the long range models figured out all they’re doing is justifying their paychecks and getting clicks.

Isn’t this thing supposed to do something?
It’s looked an exactly like that for a week.
