yikes - His Grace doesn’t work like that. You need to leave.
I can introduce you to a lot of good Christians with bombed out houses after Michael and all the others.
I can understand riding out a cat1-2 especially outside of a flood zone with a generator.
But a historic cat 5 where you’re projected to catch 3-5’ of water is either denial or self-destructive.

Nevermind, way too many people in Florida anyway. You should all stay put. You can wish it away. That works everytime. Just punch a hole in your license or ID and tie it around your neck or something like a dog tag.

You asked this question…
quote:
So, Helene was "nothing" for us and homes on Estero Blvd. still had 1st floor garages flooded, and a foot of sand on their million dollar beachfront yards. What are we honestly looking at, in the Naples, Bonita, Estero Fort Myers area? The Imperial is always a concern (like the Gulf isn't)? My home sits on an elevated lot, but I am concerned about neighbors, who have already gotten sandbags.
Someone showed you a map with 3-5’ of water possible in your yard, yet all you’ve done since then is basically not give a shite.
Not giving a shite is fine, but don’t start this whole charade by asking a question about your impact the completely ignoring any answer. It’s a waste of time.

I don't get the people who are nonchalant about being at such great risk. But even if you survive the storm or your house survives, are you just cool with living with no power or fresh food for weeks? Like...when you don't have to? That's what makes me really scratch my head with these people.

All I know is that I hope the bastard who decided to put the "i" and the "o" key right beside each other doesn't decide to evacuate.

At this point, not leaving is just a death wish. Just sheer fricking ignorance.
I hope the first responders that have to pull her body out stay safe.

You’re preaching to the choir. No way would I stay. I’m trying to convince some family friends to leave.

I could see it for a 2, probably a 3 where I am. Surge isn’t an issue and I have no trees to worry about.
With this shite headed to me?? I’m so gone.

If you aren't at risk from the storm surge you'll survive. It'll just suck a lot

Go to Weston. Very civilized. Hotels, good food, bars, etc.
Hurricane goes by.
Be home in less than 2 hours.

Family and friends are staying near Land o lakes north of Lutz. Am I over reacting in saying he is a dumbass?

There’s a large group of people that use hurricane threads like all those weirdos use the Nextdoor app, to gossip about their lives. It’s very strange
