Is Jose a threat to get into the Gulf?
Someone had a map a few days ago showing it doing a big loop, then cutting across Miami.
And apparently it received it's shipment of 'roids.

Hurricane Force winds for 10 hours where this thing makes landfall and up from there

if this thing goes a good distance into cuba the track should massively change due to the weakening
Posted on 9/8/17 at 8:35 pm to slackster
Cuba's topography would weaken it a bit you would think

Is that southwestern little wobble enough to think it's going to take Cuba head on?
Maybe. That big blow up of convection and resulting windspeed increase combined with the southern eyewall brushing the coast could be having the top half spin a little harder than the south side and have her push farther south. (Note: this is pure speculation)
A brush with some of the eye still offshore won't make a huge difference in strength, but anything is welcome. The interaction should make the eye contract quicker, and maybe open up a fortuitous eyewall replacement near Florida. But since we don't really know why they happen or exactly what causes them, take that possibility with a grain of salt.
Really interesting night for Irma's final state.

I don't think it is either, but asking for people to be banned because they post something you don't agree with is asinine.
Yeah. But there are a lot of people who's lives are in real danger and this thread keeps getting bogged down with this bs bickering. Everyone just needs to ignore these posts and stop going back & forth about it.

I'm worried about people in Ft Myers not taking Irma seriously because Charley wasn't that bad for Ft Myers.
I have some friends in Ft. Meyers who are staying. They are not near the water but they live in a double wide. I'm hoping they evacuate to a shelter.

Millions of people in Florida in the cone of Totality right now and they are bickering.

Looks like Irma dove head first into Cuba.
This ain't (riding the coast), might throw a wrench in the models having different inputs now.

What's up with the HMON?
What good is an intensity model that thinks Irma will get to 892 mb in the next 3 hours while losing 25kt of windspeed? It initialized properly too.
