It would be the worst NHC miss in modern history at this point. Take that for what it's worth.

If it heads at that trajectory it is certainly plausible. Skirting Cuba wouldn't do much, but taking it on full force would be a different story.

Is that southwestern little wobble enough to think it's going to take Cuba head on?

Damn, Marco Island under 6-9 feet of water!

It may not even be there after this is done.

My son lives in Ft Myers, hit the road north on Wednesday night and got as far as Ocala. He's staying there with his GF and her grandparents as they were low on gas and couldn't find any more.

I'm in Gainesville and paid $3.73 a gallon two days ago. Very little gas to be found, probably 10% of the stations have any here in town. Store shelves are empty, you just get what you think you can make use of even though it wasn't really what you wanted or what you were looking for. I'm learning what it must be like to live in a third world country.

I went through all of the 2004 hurricanes, but this one is fricking scary.

Not really, but it could run into trouble as it moves further west.

They could have opened one lane on the southbound side to bus, RVs and trucks.

No way people would have followed that rule. You'd end up with some messy arse headon collisions even with escorts for southbound trucks.

??? I've been lurking wayyyy longer than 2016.

I found TD from Saintsreport many moons ago. I registered there back in 2003.

I think it was 2007 when I started lurking tRant/OT.

Good to hear. I'm worried about people in Ft Myers not taking Irma seriously because Charley wasn't that bad for Ft Myers.

There is a reason people in NC & SC were nervous. There were numerous model runs that took it from Miami and then back out in the Atlantic with a 2nd landfall as far north as the Mid Atlantic.
