I am not that far from you. The eye is supposed to go through my yard. I am supposed to get 120 gusts and you are supposed to get 100.
Do you rent or own? Is your house block or wood frame? Do you have a shed? What color? Do you have a closed garage? Do not park under any trees. Do you live alone or have others that will depend on you?
Pets? Sorry to ask so many questions. If it is just you go to a shelter on Sunday evening. If your home is not structurally sound, go to a shelter. Park your vehicle somewhere high, preferably where something solid will shed it from the wind.
Questions? Concerns?

that's why they should just get rid of the line
Just show the cone. Show the line within 48 hours of landfall
They put a lot of money into psychological research in order to find the best ways to reach people without giving them too many false alarms. I believe their default graphics don't have a line anymore, for instance.
Getting important information to the public is no easy task when the average Joe is dumb and half of the population is even worse.

there's no such thing as too much ice
Freeze water in as many containers as you can now, and also empty your icemaker into ziploc bags when it fills up so that it can keep making more.

I'm officially out of St. Pete. Beach Drive was looking like a ghost town when I left.
I'm gonna spend the night in Tampa with some friends and then go to Lakeland in the morning.

They were saying they wished for 60 gusts but thought 80+ at a minimum. Right now the eye is supposed to go 40-ish miles east.
They are expecting 2-6 feet of storm surge, depending on location.
