So to you and the others who have consistently updated us on this and other storms, thank you.

Slackster has responded over and over to people showing the cones really haven't changed and explaining about the forecast. He's probably tired of doing it now.
Truth. The shift west is still within the cones but at the same time a shift from the east side of the cone to the west side of the cone is noteworthy as that can be hundreds of miles and puts entirely different populated areas in danger.
The ones fear mongering that it means it's going to hit Louisiana need to stop because nothing shows that to be happening.

that's why they should just get rid of the line
Just show the cone. Show the line within 48 hours of landfall

Cool graphic to show the cone really doesn't move around that much...

Look back in my post history...gave route I went up from Orlando. Didn't stay on 75 at all. A lot of small towns had maybe one station with police controlling the line. Shell gas in Live Oak on 90 had gas with no line minutes from the interstate. Good luck baw

Yep, as you can see marsh grass on the bridge the water was over the twin span...

Talking about the sligh westward shift in the cone isn't a problem. What does get bothersome is the people who imply a state other than Florida is in play at this point.

The shift is all within the cone of possibility though. It's always been in the area they though it could be. If it was all of the sudden tracked to go into houston, that would be cause for concern.
If you lived in Houston, sure. Not everyone on here lives in Louisiana or Texas or MS. The shift within the cone is of concern to many. If you lived in Tampa then 1 day ago the paths had you getting only mild effects. Today you would be in the bullseye. I have an uncle in Sarasota who refuses to evacuate so the westward shift, while within the cone, is of concern to me for that reason.

That was a design flaw. They floated away because of air pockets.

Well, except for the sleepy eye
I suspect that will change the further Irma gets from the mountains in the southwest of Cuba... theres basically jet fuel between her and Florida.
This is the GOAT misunderstanding. I can't even.
I had to go back and read this.

Thanks Roach. I think we are bound and determined to stay. I really thank you for following up. The idea of hitting the road just...no. Home is a fortress, and if not, we have gear in the truck, ready to go. Again, thank you, especially White Roach, for looking out for your fellow OT'ers. This has been an adventure already and is about to get a lot more crazy.
I understand that you're staying, but a full tank will come in handy AFTER the storm too. If Irma really thrashes the area, there won't be lines at the local gas stations because there will be no stations operating.
Hope you're stocked up on the things you're probably going to need. And remember, there's no such thing as too much ice.

Appreciate it but I live in Louisiana, was on vacation with Wife and kids in Orlando for last week. May take me 15 hours but I'll sleep in my bed tonight. Can't say that for the people I'm sharing interstate with right now... unless this thing keeps shifting west
