Gotta tell you, that graphic startled me when it came up on my screen.

when was the last time a Cat 4 or 5 hurricane hit a major city head on like that?
Back when Galveston was hit in 1900, it was a major city. But its lessons don't apply to modern city growth

Change it.
Cola is Pensacola and we do't even use that much.

I just called my wife and told her we are bailing if this is true. My daughter is in school at UF. We will pick her up on the way out.
I am packed and have enough gas to get almost to BR.

P'cola is what I see used the most.

Yeah. I hate it when people post old tracks from past hurricanes. Messes me up for a minute.

Seems the models have got better every year. I still remember Hurricane George baffling people as to why it took the turn it did before it hit Louisiana.

Request denied.
Columbia is our city. We'll call it what we want to. It doesn't bother us that Pensacola is referred to as Cola. Why should it bother you?
Why be so territorial over a silly name?

For sure. But when speaking, I don't know anyone that says "pee cola".

Relax. Just giving you grief. Now, get back in the kitchen and you can erroneously call Columbia cola all you want. I'm getting hungry.

Can you people fighting about the abbreviation for Columbia just drop it, please. Start your own thread and get out the hurricane thread. TIA!

Storm isn't moving at 70 MPH. We have some time for filler.

You don't want me to cook. I can promise you that. I make a mean chicken casserole but otherwise, I'm not the domesticated type. I'm sure that info comes as a huge shock.

This thread is great; from the little shed that could, to now petitioning to have Columbia drop the nickname 'cola.' Irma hasn't even made landfall yet.

What's the latest model looking like?

Lol Columbia has used "Cola" for a very, very long time. I don't give a damn what Pensacola thinks about it.
