This is concerning ~ 72 hours out. You dont want states filling with cars sitting on the damn road.

Damn. I never thought I would say this but that is a pretty nice mobile home park.
Every homeowner is a shareholder in the corporation that owns it. They had an opportunity about ten years ago to sell the place to a developer who was willing to pay each shareholder the equivalent of $500k in cash and another 250k in stock in the development and another $50k in moving costs.

The vote was an overwhelming 82% against it. It's a very close knit community. They probably regret it at this moment. They were grandfathered in when the new building codes went in, but if they get wiped out, they won't be able to meet those codes going forward. Some developer will pick it up for 1/3 the price now.

Getting some reports from St. John. The Westin took major damage. Cruz Bay is a mess. However, everyone is safe. It could have been much worse but they were leeward.

The Westin

He called for an east coast hit. Surprisingly wise prediction, as it has a range of Miami to Canada to be correct.

New GFS lining up more with the Euro than previous runs but still is keeping the persistent north bias present in all of its runs for the past three or four days.

High tide is much different from low tide along the east coast, especially where that shows. So if it hits at low tide it will be several feet less than that.
Fortunately, we just had the full moon, so the moon will only be between 81% to 70% and not in position to create a huge tidal pull like it is when it's a full moon or a new moon.

I thought this was noteworthy to share with the class...

Doesn't look like it makes actual landfall until going into Georgia. Eye skirts around Miami and Jacksonville and makes landfall around Savannah

The whole thing is a non-profit corporation. They have a board of directors and an architectural/landscaping committee, so essentially, yes, but actually, no.

At that time it was being forecast as going into Long Island. Hard not to guess east coast if it hit at all. That poster who directly asked him if it was going to hit Louisiana? He needs to be perma-banned, though.

TWC dude behind the desk said it also had a little wind reported, so it might have missed the true center a little bit. Probably holding steady at 920-921 if that's the case.

And that storm surge watch map covers a ton of people. Miami, WPB, Lauderdale.
