This has become almost blue shed for me, like I said I have a personal interest in this, but I wish Irma would sail out to sea!

I check in every once in awhile, just to see what's going on. I love the hurricane geeks. But let's be honest...if they're not in the path, they're secretly hoping for a cataclysmic event. Otherwise, it's been days and days of nothing. We all know that. No one wants to admit it, but a hurricane that heads out into the ocean doesn't excite the hurricane guys.

You are a suck arse masochist. We like the blue shed, but hate what comes with it! Most on here have been through a hurricane, tornado, or earthquake and NOT ONE would wish it on anyone!

Thats a sucky track. Miami would take the brunt of a lot damage. Storm would probably weaken like Matthew though riding the coast like that and probably only a Cat 1 maybe Cat 2 before reaching SC/GA.

I see a very similar Matthew type storm here only difference being Miami getting a hard lick this time.

House secure, cars gassed, kids sleepy and pissed. Time to get the frick out of north palm beach. Any road trip recommendations?

Current plan is to ride north up us1 and avoid 95 and turnpike and get up through Martin and st lucie counties then try and go west after we put some miles between us and dade county

Come to Baton Rouge for the weekend. We are having exquisite weather. Unseasonably cooler temps, blue skies and the first home game of the season. Take the kids to tailgate, see Harvey (Mike), then go to the new Knock Knock museum.

Good luck to you.

I was just reading that Puerto Rico's power infrastructure is so bad that some residents could be without power for four to six months

Yep. Take 710 through Okeechobee. Go to 98 and ride it through Sebring. Keep going on 98 until it turns into 27 and take it to the turnpike, past Clermont.

Stay on 27 through Leesburg, then catch 441 to Belleview. Go left on 301 to Ocala. You can get on I-75 at Ocala but there is about a 15 mile shitshow at Gainesville.

I suggest this route because it keeps you rolling while others will be sitting in traffic.
